Size guide

Most pieces carry a Japanese tag — S, M, L or XL, most often M or L. That is not a UK high-street size: Japanese M is typically closer to a UK 10. Use the centimetres or inches if you can. If you are between sizes, size up.

How to measure

  • Bust — fullest part, tape parallel to the floor.
  • Waist — narrowest part of the natural waist.
  • Hips — fullest part of the hips.

Brands still vary. Where a product lists garment measurements, use those first. Tall customers should check sleeve and body length — Japanese garments are often cut for a shorter average height.
